Decide on suitable candidate to lead country to development: Maha DyCM

Pen (Raigad), Apr 26 (UNI) Emphasising importance of this Lok Sabha election, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis asserted on Friday that this election will decide who can lead the country to development and who can change the destiny of coming generations.
While addressing an election campaign rally at Pen in Raigad Lok Sabha constituency in support of NCP (AP) nominee Sunil Tatkare, he said that this election is not for gram panchayats, Zilla Parishads, Nagar Panchayats, Metropolitan Municipalities nor for Legislative Assembly, but for the Lok Sabha of the country.
This is an election to elect the leader of the country, in whose hands the country will be safe, he said.
"In this election we see only two options: the first option is global glory under the leadership of development man Narendra Modi and Mahayuti Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar's NCP, and MNS. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's engine is the engine of our Grand Alliance (Mahayuti) and this engine is the powerful engine not just in the country but also in the world."
"On the other hand, there is a 'khichdi' (grand coalition) of 26 parties under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. There are no coaches. Everyone says I am the engine. Rahul Gandhi says I am an engine, Pawarsaheb says I am an engine, Uddhav Thackeray says I am an engine. And how many people can sit in the engine? Only the driver can sit in the engine," he said in a jibe.
"A common man cannot sit in an engine and how their engine is. Only Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have seats in Rahul Gandhi's engine, while only Supriya Sule can sit in Sharad Pawar's engine and only Aaditya Thackeray can fit in Uddhav Thackeray's engine. There is no place for anyone else to sit in their engine," he said.
"But we have a train to sit on and a place to sit. The coaches of this train have seats for the downtrodden, poor, tribals, farmers, agricultural labourers, women, minorities, nomads, and so on," he said.
Fadnavis explained that in this situation, the only option is Modi who has led this country towards development in a decade.
"In 10 years, 25 crore people of the country came above the poverty line, 20 crore people who used to live in slums got a solid house, Modi delivered gas to 50 crore homes in the country, provided toilets to 55 crore people, clean drinking water to 60 crore people, free medical treatment of up to Rs five lakh to 55 crore people, unsecured loans of up to Rs 10 lakh to 60 crore youths and gave Rs eight lakh crore to 80 lakh self-help groups," he added.
