New Delhi, Feb 13 (UNI) Continuing its strong showing at the box office in the third week, the Akshay Kumar Nimrat Kaur starrer ‘Airlift’ has grossed a figure of Rs 223 crore at the box office worldwide, trade sources said. 'The film has currently collected Rs 124 crore nett in India and Rs 178.56 crore gross. With a good run in the international markets, the film has made a collection of Rs 45 crore from the overseas business. The film’s worldwide gross earnings are RS 223 crore,’’ trade sources said. The film, which has been drawing crowds since its release on January 22, is Akshay Kumar’s second highest earner in India, behind only ‘Rowdy Rathore’. The film is also Akshay Kumar’s most successful film in the overseas circuits. Directed by raja Krishna Menon, ‘Airlift’ is based a on a real life evacuation of 1.70 lakh Indians from Kuwait during the 1990 Iraq Kuwait war.
