"Emergency" unites or divides, you decide: Kangna to audience

Chandigarh, Jan 20 (UNI) Pained by the "ban" on the release of her film "Emergency" in Punjab, actor-filmmaker and BJP MP Kangna Ranaut on Monday urged the audience to watch the movie and decide whether the movie unites or divides.

Ranaut, in a video message, said that she was feeling pain in her heart.

"In the (film) industry, people used to say that my films performed best in Punjab, but now the day has come when my film is not being allowed to be released in Punjab," she said.

She said that there were reports of attacks in Canada and Britain also adding a small section of people had started this fire and common people and she were feeling the heat.

Without naming "Emergency" in her 43-second messages in Hindi, she said that her thinking and her attachment to the country were visible in the movie and urged people to watch the movie and decide whether the movie unites or divides.

"I will not say anything more. Jai Hind. Thank you," she signed off.

"Emergency" released on Friday last faced protests across Punjab by Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee and other organisations for "defaming" Sikhs after which exhibitors decided not to release the movie.
