‘Highway of Corruption’: Chennithala tears into kerala govt over substandard NH works

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 6 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has launched a scathing attack on the Kerala government, accusing it of turning the state’s national highway development into a “highway of corruption” plagued by shoddy workmanship, mismanagement, and vanishing accountability.
His criticism comes in the wake of a dramatic road collapse on National Highway 66 near Kottiyam, which left a massive crater in the carriageway and narrowly avoided a potential tragedy involving a school van.
Chennithala, a Congress Working Committee member, alleged that the ongoing highway construction in Kerala is among the worst in India, claiming that basic requirements like soil testing and a proper Detailed Project Report were ignored, reducing a massive infrastructure project into a “mockery” of public works.
