'Southern Charm' Alum Kathryn Dennis sentenced to jail for DUI in South Carolina

Los Angeles, Oct 6 (UNI) Reality TV star Kathryn Dennis has been sentenced to 30 days in police custody following a conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to inmate records from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
The incident, which led to her arrest, occurred in May 2024 when Dennis was pulled over by the Goose Creek Police Department in South Carolina. Officers suspected impairment, noting that she had “glossy eyes” and a noticeable “odor of alcohol,” according to People.
Video footage obtained by TMZ shows Dennis arguing with officers during and after a field sobriety test. Once placed in handcuffs, the former Southern Charm cast member reportedly said, “You are ruining my life and my kids' lives. Thanks for nothing.”
In addition to the DUI charge, Dennis was also cited for transporting an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. She is currently serving her sentence at the Berkeley County jail. A statement from her representatives has not yet been released.
Dennis, who starred on Bravo’s Southern Charm from 2014 to 2023, has previously opened up about her struggles with substance abuse and spent time in rehab in California.
She shares two children, daughter Kensington and son Saint Julie, with ex-partner Thomas Ravenel.
This is not the first time Dennis has faced legal issues. In 2023, she was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run incident, which she later admitted during season six of the show was alcohol-related.
