125 years old ‘Mooknayak’ holds national convention at Gaiety Theatre

Shimla, Dec 15 (UNI) In a moment of rare historical importance, 'Mooknayak', the 125-year-old newspaper founded by Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar to amplify the voices of the marginalised, held its second national convention on Sunday at Shimla’s iconic Gaiety Theatre.
The gathering stood as a powerful symbol of more than a century of journalistic resistance against caste oppression and social injustice, while also reaffirming the continued relevance of Babasaheb Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s ideals in contemporary India.
The convention concluded successfully at the historic venue, bringing together nearly 300 journalists, writers, and contributors from across the country. Journalists from different generations, including young reporters and veteran writers, came together to reaffirm Mooknayak’s long-standing commitment to highlighting issues of caste discrimination, atrocities, and the rights of vulnerable communities.
