18-yr-old youth drowned in Banner Khad at Kangra

Kangra, June 19 (UNI) An 18-year-old youth, a resident of Rehan of Nurpur subdivision of this district, drowned in Banner Khad in Kangra town on Wednesday, police said.
Kangra Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Ankit Sharma told UNI that three youths from Rehan area of Kangra district arrived at Kangra Mandir Railway station today to pay obeisance at Bajreshwari temple, one of the 52 Shakti peeths in Kangra town, but before proceeding to the temple, the trio decided to take a bath in Banner Khad near Kangra Mandir Railway station as it was a hot summer day here today.
SDPO said that when they jumped for the bath in the Banner Khad, two of them returned back, and the third one, identified as Suraj Kumar, a resident of Rehan in district Kangra, was drowned in the deep water of the Banner.
