Shillong, Aug 12 (UNI) Meghalaya registered 23 new COVID-19 positive cases as on Wednesday morning, taking the active tally to 642, while seven more persons recovered from the viral disease, mounting the number of recoveries to 517.
Eleven cases, including eight Border Security Force (BSF) troopers, one armed forces and two civilians were detected in East Khasi Hills, which is the most affected district in the state with 433 active cases (267 civilians, 96 BSF troopers, 70 armed forces) as on date, Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed.
Furthermore, he informed that ten more BSF troopers in the West Garo Hills and one person each in the South Garo Hills and North Garo Hills were also detected with corona virus infection.
