Abhimaanotsava becomes BJP's early 2028 power pitch in Karnataka

Bengaluru, May 15 (UNI) The massive "Abhimaanotsava" in Chitradurga has quickly evolved into more than a felicitation event, emerging as an early political signal of the BJP's intent to reset and regroup for the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections.
Karnataka BJP President and MLA B Y Vijayendra on Friday described the gathering as the "first step" towards bringing the party back to power, turning what was officially a tribute to former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa into a larger political statement of organisational strength and future ambition.
The event, held on the 9th in Chitradurga, reportedly drew lakhs of supporters from across the state, with Vijayendra calling it a historic mobilisation that reflected the continued emotional and political connect of Yediyurappa with the party's grassroots base.
