Afghan police destroy huge quantity of illegal drugs

Kabul, Dec 13 (UNI) Police have destroyed thousands of kilograms of illegal drugs, including heroin and opium, collected over the past year in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province, said a statement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs today.
The public destruction was witnessed by officials, the statement said.
The destroyed drugs included 464 kg of hashish, 365 kg of opium, 7,743 kg of cannabis resin, 350 kg of heroin, 15 kg of methamphetamine, 3,500 stimulant tablets (locally known as "tablet K"), and other illegal substances, according to the statement.
