All sweets sold in Shimla city will now be required to have an expiry date

Shimla, Oct 17(UNI) The Shimla district administration has issued an instruction under which it will be mandatory for sweets sold during the festive season in the capital to be marked with an expiry date. The district administration has issued instructions to mark all the sweets with a best-before date (a date indicating that the product will remain at its best taste and quality until that date) on all sweets.
Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap held a meeting with the SDM regarding Diwali preparations. He directed inspections of markets for the sale of sweets during the festive season. The Food Supply Department team will inspect wholesale and retail sweet shops.
The ingredients used in sweets will be checked against quality standards. If any substandard food item is found, action will be taken against the shopkeeper. It is mandatory for sweets to have a best-before date, correct labeling, and proper packaging.

Foreign patients in Lucknow hospitals must be reported to CMO within 24 hours
