Amid monsoon, Maha's Ch. Sambhajinagar, Gangapur face rain shortage

Chhatrapati Sambhjinagar, Aug 4 (UNI) Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district faces acute monsoon scarcity, with cumulative rainfall between June and September reaching only 50.1 per cent of normal levels as of today, as per meteorological data.
Despite recording 104.8 per cent of normal rainfall in June-July, all nine tehsils now face water stress due to August's sharp downturn, where just 16.6 mm of rainfall was recorded against an expected 184.2 mm.
Kannad tehsil remains the sole exception, achieving 147.6 per cent of normal rain during June-July and maintaining 72.8 per cent for the extended monsoon period with 411.6 mm against 278.9 mm normal. However, it too received negligible August showers.
