AP: 3 TDP candidates file nominations for RS polls

Vijayawada, June 8 (UNI): On Monday, three candidates of the ruling Telugu Desam Party filed their nominations to contest in the Rajya Sabha elections.
Three TDP candidates - Sana Satish, Bashyam Ramakrishna and Chintakayala Vijay - filed their nominations in the Returning Officer’s office located on the Legislative Assembly premises at Amaravati, near here. They submitted their nomination papers to returning officer R Vanita Rani. Sata Satish submitted two sets of nomination papers which were proposed by government Chief Whip GV Anjaneyulu and MLA Kanna Lakshminarayana.
Bhashaym Ramakrishna submitted two sets of nomination papers, which were supported by Minister K Atchannaidu and MLA B Ramanjaneyulu, while Chintakayala Vijay filed two sets of nomination papers which were proposed by Minister K Parthasarati and MLA Kamineni Srinivas. It may be mentioned here that three TDP candidates and one Janasena party candidate are contesting in the RS elections in AP.

Bengaluru, July 22 (UNI) Karnataka on Wednesday stepped up pressure on the Centre over the worsening drought situation, with Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara describing the crisis as "extremely serious" and urging the union Government to declare it a calamity of national significance while providing immediate relief to affected states.
