AP: Newly constructed west bypass road made available for people

Vijayawada, Jan 15 (UNI) The newly constructed west bypass road was made available for the public on Thursday. The National Highway Authority officials formally performed pooja on the highway on Thursday and opened the highway for motorists. The significance of the west bypass road, on the Chennai-Kolkata highway, is that it was constructed across the river Krishna reservoir, upstream the Prakasam barrage.
The west bypass road passes through the capital city Amaravati. The west bypass was constructed from Kaja village in Mangalagiri mandal to Pedavutpalli in Krishna district.
Talking to the media, NH project director Parvathisam said that the traffic on the west bypass road was allowed on the one side of the road as the construction has been completed without any toll gate.
