AP: union Minister Kumaraswamy visits Steel Plant, announces Rs 25 L ex gratia

Visakhapatnam, June 9 (UNI) union Minister for Steel H D Kumaraswamy, accompanied by Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Home Minister V Anitha and MP M Bharat, today visited the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant where a blast and fire claimed eight lives and left six others injured on Monday evening.
Talking to mediapersons, Kumaraswamy announced Rs 25 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved families irrespective of whether they were regular employees or outsourced. "The family members of the deceased have been permitted to retain their quarters in the steel plant township till the notional date of superannuation of the deceased. This has been done as a special case," the Steel Minister informed.
He also announced Rs 10 lakh ex gratia to the severely injured persons by the Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Visakha Steel Plant).
