Arunachal Cong launches ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha’ in solidarity with party leader Rahul Gandhi

Itanagar, Apr 1 (UNI) The opposition Congress in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday launched the 'Jai Bharat Satyagraha' to protest against its leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in a defamation case and his subsequent disqualification from the Lok Sabha.
A candle-lit march marked the launch of the protest programme in the state capital.
Holding posters, banners and party flags, the workers of the Congress party, including its frontal wings, led by APCC president and former chief minister Nabam Tuki, took out a candle-lit march from its state headquarters, Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan to Bank Tinali here this evening. At the close of the rally, the protesters placed the burning candles in front of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi over the underpass at Bank Tinali here amid chants of ‘Save democracy, save India’, ‘Rahul Gandhi Zindabad’, etc.
