Arunachal: Police books artiste for alleged animal cruelty

Itanagar, Nov 5 (UNI) An incident of alleged animal cruelty has been reported involving a live performance by artiste Kon Waii Son during a recent event held in the Arunachal Pradesh capital.
As per the FIR, filed by Sinchana Subramanyan, cruelty response coordinator at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) India, Son allegedly beheaded a live hen during a stage performance at ‘The Fujin’, Itanagar on October 27, drank its blood directly from the wound, and discarded the body.
The act, witnessed by a large audience, reportedly caused distress and alarm, raising concerns about potential violations of animal welfare laws, Itanagar SP Rohit Rajbir Singh said on Tuesday.
