Visakhapatnam, Jul 28 (UNI) Vizag Film Society (VFS) in association with Milestone Venture is organizing a five-day Asian Panorama film festival which will begin from August 1. According to VFS statement here, during the festival nine critically acclaimed films from countries such as South Korea, Kazakhstan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Japan, Vietnam and China will be screened at Visakha Public Library Campuses Hall. All the films will have English sub-titles. 'This is the first time the Asian films are screened in city. Films from Bhutan and Bangladesh could not be screened due to logistic issues like prints not getting on time,” the statement said. Some of the films to be screened during the festival are Chaitanya Tamhanee’s critically acclaimed Marathi film ‘Court’, Yermek Tursunov’s ‘Old Man’, Mehren Jabbar’s ‘Ramchand Pakistan’, Yojiro Takita’s Japanese film ‘Departures’, Tony Bui’s Vietnamese film ‘Three Seasons’, the statement added.
