Guwahati, Oct 2 (UNI) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday launched the Mukhyamantri Lok Sewak Arogya Yojana for state government employees and pensioners here.
The Chief Minister also launched an online portal for payment of medical bills on the occasion.
It is to be noted that all government employees and pensioners receiving salary and pension from the state exchequer will be considered eligible for pension and medical expenses to be paid as per Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) rates.
At the same time, government employees and pensioners will get the benefit of treatment in the hospital of their choice and regular updates will be given to the beneficiary through SMS. The scheme provides for advance and partial reimbursement of medical expenses directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Sarma said as per this system, the cost of treatment of government employees, pensioners and their dependents will be paid at the rate of the Central Government health Scheme through the online IT portal.
Beneficiaries will be able to register on the portal for payment of medical expenses from Monday itself. The beneficiaries will be able to get cashless treatment in government hospitals like Guwahati Medical College hospital, B. Barooah Cancer Institute and AIIMS from April 1, he added.
On this occasion, the concluding ceremony of Swachh Bharat Diwas was also held. The Chief Minister transferred RS 9,000 per household for building toilets in their homes. UNI XC SSP
