Australia, Vanuatu agree to A$500m security, business deal

Sydney, Aug 14 (UNI) Australia and Vanuatu have agreed to a ten-year deal, aimed at strengthening security and economic ties, worth ASD 500 million (USD 328,000; £241,000).
The so-called Nakamal agreement - the result of months of negotiations - will transform Australia's relationship with its Pacific neighbour, leaders from both countries said on Wednesday, reports BBC.
"We are family," Australia's deputy prime minister Richard Marles said: "Our future is very much bound together". Vanuatu's leader Jotham Napat described the deal as "win-win situation" for both nations.

Lebanon Health Ministry reports 3020 deaths due to Israel-Hezbollah war

Beirut, May 19 (UNI) Amid Israel's continuing parallel war in Lebanon against Hezbollah militants, Lebanon's health ministry said Monday that over 3,020 people have been killed so far in Israeli attacks since early March, with another 9,273 people having been wounded. However, the numbers did not distinguish between civilian and Hezbollah targets.
