Badlapur sexual assault case: Two accused school trustees get JC

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Two trustees of a school in Badlapur town of neighbouring Thane district, who were accused in sexual assault case involving two toddlers and were arrested late on Wednesday night by Thane police, were sent into judicial custody by a court on Thursday.
Trustees Uday Kotwal, the chairman, and Tushar Apte, the secretary, had been absconding since the incident and were arrested from a farmhouse in Karjat town of Raigad district, where they had been hiding.
The incidents of sexual assault on two four-year-old girls by a cleaner, Akshay Shinde, took place in the school on August 12 and 13 and were thereafter reported to the school principal by the girls’ parents.
