Bangladesh Awami League rejects election schedule of interim govt, calls it "deeply biased"

Dhaka, Dec 11 (UNI) Bangladesh's former ruling Awami League party on Thursday formally rejected the newly announced national election schedule, claiming it was "heavily biased".
The now banned party, which played a leading role in the country's freedom movement, also called into question the schedule's very legitimacy, deeming any elections without the Awami League as redundant, given that it is historically both the country's oldest and to-date its "most popular party" despite the ban.
Releasing a statement rejecting the schedule, and slamming the Chief Advisor Md Yunus-led interim regime, the party taking to X wrote that it has "closely reviewed the election schedule announced by the illegal, occupying, killer-fascist Yunus clique's illegal Election Commission."

The European Parliament on Thursday expressed “full solidarity” with Iranians, accused the government of rights violations, and called for the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps to be designated a terrorist organization.
