Beam of under-construction bridge in Kozhikode collapses, two workers injured

Kozhikode, Aug 14 (UNI) A beam at the under-construction Thorayikadavu bridge, which is set to connect the Pookad and Atholi regions, across the Korapuzha river, collapsed and fell into the river, at Chemmenchery near Koyilandy today.
Reports said, the incident occurred around 1530 hrs, during the concreting of a 20- metres beam, when the supporting pillars gave way, causing the beam to fall into the middle of the river.
Two construction workers sustained minor injuries and have been admitted at a private hospital at Quilandy.
