Bengal celebrates Republic Day

Kolkata, Jan 26 (UNI) West Bengal on Sunday celebrated the 76th Republic Day along with the rest of the country with the main programme organised by the government at Red Road where Governor CV Ananda Bose unfurled the national tri-colour in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
The duo also watched the Republic Day parade at Red Road where the three wings of the Defence forces, Paramilitary forces, Police, Civil Defence, NCC and girls cadets marched past with a salute to the dignitaries.
At the parade the state showcased their achievements in tableau, including the Robotic Mules and new-generation vehicles by the Indian Army.

Ranchi, Dec 8 (UNI) Under a nationwide campaign launched by the Teachers Federation of India (TFI), the Akhil Jharkhand Prathamik Shikshak Sangh on Sunday submitted memoranda to several Members of Parliament from Jharkhand, urging the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter of mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for teachers appointed before the implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
