BJD slams Odisha Govt over patient’s death after ambulance runs out of fuel

Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI) Amid the prevailing fuel crisis in Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal on Friday alleged that a patient died after the ambulance carrying him reportedly ran out of fuel midway while shifting him from SCB Medical College and Hospital to a private hospital.
In a statement, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Lenin Mohanty described the incident as “tragic” and said the fuel shortage situation in the state had become alarming.
The patient, a resident of Kendrapara district, was being shifted in an emergency vehicle when the ambulance allegedly stopped midway after running out of fuel, following which the patient died, the party claimed.
