BJP alleges women targeted during Maddur Ganesha immersion

Mandya, Sept 10 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa today strongly slammed the state government over the recent disturbances during a Ganesh immersion procession in Maddur, Mandya district. Vijayendra alleged that Hindu women workers were deliberately left unprotected during the procession, leading to stone-pelting incidents.
Addressing the media, Vijayendra stated, "Many Hindu women workers were present when stones were suddenly thrown at the procession. Not a single female constable was deployed. This inaction shows a complete failure of both the police and the local administration."
He further claimed that the Superintendent of Police confirmed that some Muslim youth were responsible for the attacks, while district officials and ministers shifted blame onto the BJP. Vijayendra emphasised that the state government's appeasement politics were the main reason for the repeated law and order breakdowns in districts like Mandya and Bhadravati.
