BJP gears up for PM's Brigade rally on Mar 7

Kolkata, Mar 06 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) rank and files and their leaders have geared up across West Bengal to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Brigade rally here on March 7, a historic event..
BJP state president Dilip Ghosh said their rally would surpass (in term of attendance of people) all the previous meetings held at the specious Brigade Parade Grounds, the largest open green space in the city.
The BJP leader has asked all the district heads to ensure maximum attendance for the PM's rally to display the party strength in organising the masses from all walks of life.
Sources said the party has aimed to gather some 200,0000 (twenty lakh people) for the rally.
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, who switched over to the saffron brigade from the ruling TMC in December last, has been campaigning in the rural Bengal to gather people from five districts of East and West Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia and Bankura.
He said they would cover all the spaces as they have targeted the presence of some 20 lakh people at a single venue.
The BJP is likely to release its first list of candidates for West Bengal tomorrow i.e. March 7 following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Brigade rally in the city.
The party is expected to announce the names of 60 candidates along with their seat details in their first candidate list for the West Bengal polls.
“The Prime Minister asked us not to indulge in name-calling or negativity to counter the diatribe against the party and its leaders from the ruling TMC. He asked each one of us to see to it that the BJP’s campaign is civilised,” said a senior party leader.
Meanwhile, Former All India Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Dinesh Trivedi has joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of president JP Nadda on Saturday.
In a press conference attended by JP Nadda, Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and Spokesperson Sambit Patra, Dinesh Trivedi was inducted into the party.
Welcoming the former Union Railways Minister, Nadda said: "I always felt that he was the right person in the wrong party".
"Now I feel is he is the right person in the right party," he added.
The former TMC Rajya Sabha MP then praised the PM Narendra Modi-led government saying how India is getting praised the world over and people are proud of the work done so far.
He reiterated BJP's call for turning the state into "Sonar Bangla", talking about how West Bengal is currently ridden with corruption and violence.
'Bengal has huge potential but still people are going out to work to other cities. The state is full of corruption and gundaraj. Today, the people of Bengal are happy that a parivartan is going to take place under BJP,' said Mr Trivedi.
