BJP MLA Hans Raj booked under BNS in abduction, intimidation case in HP

Shimla, Nov 7 (UNI) A major controversy has erupted in Himachal Pradesh after the Tissa police station in Chamba district registered an FIR against BJP MLA Hans Raj from Churah constituency and others on serious criminal charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The FIR, lodged yesterday on the complaint of Taj Mohammed, includes offences under various sections of the BNS, relating to kidnapping or abduction for secret and wrongful confinement, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and mischief, among others.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that an FIR was lodged a year ago, but on the changed statement of the victim, a cancellation report was registered in the court. However, the victim came up with a new complaint, and after verifying facts, further action would be taken according to law, said the CM.
