BJP's Narayanaswamy cites Lokayukta remarks on 63 pc corruption in Karnataka, seeks govt's resignation

Bengaluru, Dec 4 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Chalavadi Narayanaswamy on Thursday invoked the recent remarks of Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa who has stated that Karnataka currently records 63% corruption, and charged that the Congress government has lost every shred of moral authority to remain in power.
Referring to Justice Veerappa's statement that Karnataka stands among the five most corrupt states in the country, against neighbouring Kerala which has recorded 10 percent corruption, Narayanaswamy said the observations cannot be dismissed as political rhetoric. "These are not allegations made from a political platform. This is an authenticated statement made by a sitting Justice of the Lokayukta," he told reporters here.
Narayanswamy added that routine accusations of 30 percent, 40 percent or 50 percent corruption by political leaders are often brushed aside, but the present remark carried institutional weight. "When a Justice himself says Karnataka’s corruption level is 63 percent, the government has no room for denial," he said.
