BJP suspends two Himachal leaders for six years over anti-party activities

Shimla, May 17 (UNI) The BJP in Himachal Pradesh on Monday suspended two party leaders for six years over alleged anti-party activities during the Panchayati Raj and urban local body elections.
According to a press statement issued by the BJP state unit, the disciplinary committee constituted for the Panchayati Raj and municipal elections had received complaints against Kisan Morcha district general secretary Gyan Thakur and district spokesperson Amit Rana from Nalagarh-Panjhera mandal.
The party alleged that Gyan Thakur contested the Zila Parishad election from Ward No. 14, Danota in Nalagarh, against the BJP’s authorised candidate, while Amit Rana was accused of indulging in anti-party activities during the elections.
