Bommai urges sports minister to intervene in Phogat's disqualification

New Delhi, Aug 7 (UNI) In a forceful appeal made today in New Delhi, former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai called on the Union Sports Minister to urgently address the disqualification of Vinesh Phogat from the Olympic final due to being just 100 grams over the weight limit.
"I urge the Union Sports Minister to swiftly intervene and bring this matter before the Olympic Board," Bommai told reporters. "Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification is a grave injustice, and she rightfully deserves another chance to compete in the final."
Bommai also highlighted broader concerns about the integrity of the Olympic Games, noting that such situations may be influenced by controversies and political factors.
