Chennai, Mar 18 (UNI) British Navy warship 'HMS Tamar' is on
a visit to Chennai.
The warship arrived at the Chennai Port yesterday and will be
berthed here till March 29, a defence release said today.
The ship recently participated in multilateral Naval Exercise
“La Pérouse”.
Commander Teilo Elliot Smith, Commanding Officer HMS Tamar
along with Captain Ian Lynn, Naval Advisor at the British High
Commission, Delhi called on Rear Admiral S Venkat Raman,
Flag Officer Commanding Tamilnadu and Puducherry Naval
Area (FOTNA) at the Headquarters here and discussed matters
of mutual interest.
During her stay in Chennai, a variety of activities including
professional and social interactions and sports fixtures between
the two Navies have been scheduled.
