British rock band Def Leppard to kick off India debut from Shillong on March 25 next year

Shillong, Dec 11 (UNI) Legendary British rock band, Def Leppard, is set to perform in India for the first time in March 2026.
The hard rock band will kick off its concert tour from Northeast India’s rock capital, Shillong, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Polo Grounds) on March 25, 2026.
Billed as one of the biggest international gigs in India, the classic hard rock band is scheduled to perform in three places - Shillong, the picturesque hill town and capital of Meghalaya, followed by Mumbai, and Bengaluru on March 27 and March 29 respectively.
“We’re excited to announce our India tour dates in 2026. Playing for our fans in India is thrilling for us. We can’t wait to see you soon!” band’s founder member and frontman, Joe Elliott said.
BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment division of ticketing platform BookMyShow, announced on Thursday that general ticket sales for the tour will open at 12 pm (noon) IST on December 13, exclusively on its platform.
Promising “an incredible night for all the fans”, lead guitarist Phil Collen said, the band was “delighted to finally make it to India next year.”
In Shillong, the concert is being supported by Meghalaya Tourism, underscoring the state’s push to position the hill city—long regarded as a rock music hub in the Northeast—as a key stop on global tour circuits. The Circus will be the event partner for the show.
With more than 110 million albums sold worldwide and induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Def Leppard are regarded as one of the most influential arena rock bands.
Their catalogue includes multi-platinum albums such as Pyromania and Hysteria and hits like ‘Rock of Ages’, ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’, ‘Animal’ and ‘Foolin’.
In recent years, the band has continued extensive global touring, including a major 2023 run that featured sold-out arena and stadium shows.
Chief Business Officer – Live Events, BookMyShow, Naman Pugalia, said, “Def Leppard’s first full-scale headlining run in the country was a “shared celebration of music history, fan devotion and the power of live experiences.”
"The legendary global acts were returning to our stages as Indian audiences for rock music grow,” Pugalia said, describing the British rock band tour as a “significant moment for rock culture in India”.
