BSF organises cleanliness drive “Swacchta Hi Seva” on Gandhi Jayanti

Srinagar, Oct 1 (UNI) Border Security Force (BSF), Kashmir, organised a cleanliness drive in several parts of the valley on Sunday under the aegis of “Swacchta Hi Seva” on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The Inspector General of BSF Kashmir Ashok Yadav led the cleanliness drive conducted around Srinagar Airport, in and around all its campus of 14 battalions and four sectors located in different parts of Kashmir Valley on Sunday.
The cleanliness drive is being organized from September 24 until today at Frontier HQ/STC BSF, Kashmir, to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 153rd birth anniversary. It is aimed at promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental awareness among the local community.
The event witnessed the active participation of BSF personnel along with members of civil society to clean and beautify the surroundings of the civil airport and BSF Campus Humhama, spreading the message of cleanliness and its importance.
Besides the above, all BSF establishments and BNs working in the Kashmir Valley have participated in the “Swacchta Hi Seva” campaign in their respective areas.
The initiative, aligned with the “Swacchta Hi Seva” campaign, emphasizes the significance of cleanliness as a way of life and how it contributes to a healthier and more sustainable future.
Ashok Yadav expressed his gratitude towards the BSF personnel for their unwavering dedication and their role in keeping the surroundings clean and green.
He also urged citizens to wholeheartedly contribute towards the efforts of the Government of India in promoting cleanliness across the nation through initiatives like “Swacchta Hi Seva”.
The event served as a platform for fostering a sense of community and camaraderie with BSF personnel working hand in hand with local residents, creating a positive and lasting impact on the environment.
The drive also emphasized the need for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene as essential practices for the wellbeing of individuals and the community at large.
Yadav also extended heartfelt thanks to all BSF personnel who contributed their time and efforts towards making this cleanliness drive a resounding success.
A Swachh Bharat is a shared responsibility, and every effort towards it counts, he added.
