BSF seizes 2.1 kgs of heroin from Punjab border

Jalandhar, Apr 17 (UNI) Border Security Force(BSF) on Saturday foiled another attempt of the Pakistani smugglers to push drugs into Indian Territory through Punjab border and seized two packets of contraband suspected to be heroin from the areas of responsibility of 29 Bn of the BSF in Ferozepur sector.
A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier’s Headquarter here said today that the alert troops in the area of responsibility of 29 Bn of the BSF in Ferozepur seized two packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 2.150 kgs.
He said that the alert BSF troops guarding the post observed unscrupulous activities of some miscreants ahead border security fence and challenged them following which they ran towards the Pakistani Territory. During the search, the BSF seized 2.150kg of heroin contained in two packets. Value of the heroin seized is said to be more than Rs. 10.50 crore.
