Calcutta HC admits Suvendu Adhikari's petition seeking CBI probe into alleged attack on his convoy

Kolkata: Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, approached the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday, seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into an alleged attack on his convoy in West Midnapore district.
Justice Shubra Ghosh granted admission to the case, and the matter is likely to be heard later this week.
According to Adhikari’s counsel, the incident took place last Saturday in the Chandrakona area of West Midnapore, where the opposition leader’s vehicle was allegedly attacked and there was an attempt on his life. However, the police allegedly failed to take any effective action in the matter, with no arrests made so far.
