Centre has stopped Delhi's budget, alleged Kailash Gahlot in Assembly

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) Delhi Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot on Tuesday alleged the Centre government has stopped to present Delhi’s budget
Gahlot, in the House of Delhi Assembly, said that the budget file has been resent to the Ministry of Home Affairs for approval.
He claimed that for the first time in India’s history, the Central government had stopped the Delhi government from presenting its annual budget for 2023-24 on its scheduled date on March 21. The budget was sent for MHA’s approval as per regular practice well in advance on March 10.
Gahlot claimed that he learned about the letter, in which MHA had raised some queries on Delhi’s budget, only at 2 pm on March 20. The file with MHA’s letter was put up to him officially only at 6 pm on Monday just the day before the budget was to be tabled in Delhi Assembly. Subsequently, the Delhi government responded to MHA’s concerns and submitted the file back to Delhi’s LG after CM’s approval at 9 pm yesterday. The file came back at 10:30 pm from LG House.
“The concerned officials today informed me that the file has been sent to MHA by physically and through email. If the budget will not be passed, the salaries and other development works will halt in Delhi,” Gahlot said to media persons at a press briefing.
The Assembly was adjourned twice before lunch amid ruckus between ruling Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and opposition BJP MLAs, in fact, the first time, some BJP MLAs walked out from the House after an argument between AAP and BJP MLAs.
