Champ P. V. Nandhidhaa from Tamil Nadu takes lead at end of 7th round of National women chess

Durgapur, Dec 9 (UNI) Tamil Nadu's P. V. Nandhidhaa overtook her nearest rival Shubhi Gupta from Uttar Pradesh and was leading the board with 6.5 points at the end of the 7th round of the 51st National Women’s Chess Championship being held here today.
At the end of the day, reigning champion WGM P V Nandhidhaa of Tamil Nadu was leading with 6.5 points after she with white pieces defeated the leader Shubhi Gupta of UP easily to take the lead.
On the second board, WGM Mary Ann Gomes from PSPB could not convert her advantage and had to settle for a draw with Ananya Raman from Tamil Nadu.
