Chinar Corps commander reviews operational preparedness along LoC in Kupwara's Machil sector

Srinagar, Oct 3 (UNI) General Officer Commanding of Army’s Srinagar based Chinar Corps on Tuesday visited forward locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district where recently an infiltration bid was foiled by security forces.

Army said Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai visited frontline units along the Line of Control (LOC) in Machil and reviewed the Counter Infiltration grid and “operational preparedness”.

The Chinar Corps Commander complimented jawans for successful conduct of two recent counter infiltration operations in the sector, they said.

On September 30, Police said that two heavily armed militants were killed after an infiltration attempt was thwarted by security forces along the LoC at Kumkadi area in Machil sector. A day later security forces recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during another operation in the Machil sector.


In a post on X, Army said Chinar Corps Commander visited forward locations on LoC in Machil

“#ChinarCorps Cdr visited frontline unit along the #LoC in Machhal, #Kupwara to review the Counter Infiltration Grid and Operational Preparedness and complimented them for successful conduct of Op Gucchinar at #Machhal on 29-30 Sept where Two infiltrating terrorists were eliminated & large quantity of war-like stores recovered,” Chinar Corps said on X.
