CM inaugurates Manali Winter Carnival 2026, announces major tourism and infrastructure initiatives

Shimla, Jan 20(UNI): Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday inaugurated the 'Manali Winter Carnival- 2026' at Manali in Kullu district, reaffirming the state government’s focus on strengthening tourism while ensuring environmentally sustainable development.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off nearly 300 colourful tableaux depicting developmental activities and the cultural richness of various government departments, adding vibrancy to the annual winter festival.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister announced several key projects to enhance tourism infrastructure and improve public amenities in the Manali region. Prominent among these was the development of a riverfront project in Manali at an estimated cost of Rs. 250 crore, aimed at boosting tourism and improving the town’s urban landscape.
