Collector grants permission to screen 3 shows of 'Marathi Tigers' daily

Kolhapur, Feb 12 (UNI) District collector Dr Amit Saini today granted permission to Marathi film 'Marathi Tigers' to screen daily three shows till February 22 in Shinoli village of Chandgad tehsil of this district, one Km from Maharashtra-Karnataka disputed border line at the Maharashtra state side. Producer Abhijit Tehsildar said, 'A permission order to this effect has received and as per order we will screen daily three shows during 1000 hrs to 1900 hours for the Marathi speaking peoples in disputed border areas.' 'Marathi Tigers' based on long pending dispute on border between Maharashtra-Karnataka, was released under police security in Shinoli village on February 5. The Karnataka high court had rejected the plea to ban the film in disputed border areas between two states, but the Belgaum district collector indirectly allegedly threatened the theatre owners not to release the film.
