Cong govt in K'taka failed to take pre-emptive steps to prevent Shivamogga incident: BJP alleges

Bengaluru, Oct 2 (UNI) The Congress government in Karnataka has allegedly failed to maintain law and order in the aftermath of stone-pelting incident in Shivamogga town on Sunday evening, said BJP leaders including former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Cornering the government further, the BJP leaders questioned its failure to take pre-emptive measures to prevent untoward incidents at the Eid Milad procession when Ganesha Visarjan ended peacefully.
"Usually such communal incidents take place in three police station limits, and it was for the state government to take appropriate measures in anticipation. Adequate police bandobast should have been done. If it is not done, such incidents happen," Bommai said.
