Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh), Oct 3 (UNI) In a no-holds-barred offensive, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged on Tuesday that the Congress – during decades in power at the Centre – converted “loktantra (democracy) into loottantra and prajatantra into parivartantra (dynasticism).”
Addressing the BJP’s Parivartan Mahasankalp Rally in this divisional headquarters of election-bound Chhattisgarh, the visiting dignitary said, “Congress leaders are interested in creating niches for their own children. In the pre-2014 era, newspapers were replete with reports regarding the Centre’s scams running into crores. As a direct consequence, Bharat’s global image was sullied.”
Congress dispensations are existent in a very limited number of states, the Prime Minister pointed out, adding that wherever Congress regimes were formed incessant plunder followed.
“Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are among the instances. In Chhattisgarh, people have disclosed to me that Congress leaders rake in lucre. A hollow assurance was made vis-à-vis large-scale employment.
Corruption was perpetrated regarding even cow dung! The populace is distraught. Crime is at its nadir as Chhattisgarh has the dubious distinction of ranking among the ‘frontline’ states vis-à-vis homicides!
Sometimes it appears as if Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are competing for the numero uno spot in terms of atrocities against women and murders,” Mr Modi observed.
Development is seen solely in Congress posters, banners and in their leaders’ treasure chests, the Prime Minister quipped.
“A Nelson’s eye was turned to Bastar and only a handful of their touts would approach you for garnering votes. A demand for a steel plant was placed on the backburner because the then Congress regime at the Centre desired commissions. For a rather lengthy period, the Congress policy was to export raw material and then import expensive products created with that very material.
Transfers and postings are ‘auctioned’ in Chhattisgarh where dissent is stifled through incarceration,” he underlined.
