Congress hails Kerala mandate as Priyanka Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh thank voters, vow to honour trust amid mixed national results

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) Senior leaders of the Congress on Monday welcomed the party-led alliance’s emphatic victory in Kerala, expressing gratitude to voters and pledging to translate the mandate into accountable governance, even as they acknowledged that results in other regions fell short of expectations.
In a message posted on social media platform X, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra thanked the people of Kerala for what she described as “overwhelming support” for the United Democratic Front. “To all my brothers and sisters in Keralam, thank you for your faith and for your overwhelming support. The trust you have placed in us will be the UDF’s guiding force as we work hard towards building a better future for each one of you,” she said, adding that the alliance’s gratitude would be reflected “each day of the next five years” through honest and humble governance.
Highlighting a sweeping performance in Wayanad, Vadra said, “To my family in Wayanad, you have renewed your belief in the UDF with a resounding mandate — 7 out of 7 seats. You now have 8 representatives working together towards the development of Wayanad. We will do all we can to live up to your expectations.” She also congratulated party workers and leaders, noting their “tireless efforts” in taking the message of a “united and progressive Keralam to every household,” and expressed hope that the coming years would strengthen their resolve to serve the people.
