COVID-19: 27 more deaths in Gujarat, toll crosses 1000 mark

Gandhinagar, May 30 (UNI) Gujarat has reported 27 more deaths and 412 new cases of novel coronavirus in last 24 hours taking the overall number of positive cases in the western state to 16356 including the 1007 deaths and 9230 recoveries so far.

There were 621 new recoveries during the last 24 hours which was a new high for any single day so far. 518 of these were in Ahmedabad, 29 in Vadodara and 30 in Surat. 24 of the deaths occurred in Ahmedabad and one each in Gandhinagar, Banaskantha and Mahesana. With 284 more new cases, Ahmedabad has a total of the maximum 11871 reported positive cases including the 822 deaths and 6317 recoveries so far. All the new cases were locals, according to the official bulletin of the health department. A total 6119 cases are active now of which 62 were on ventilators.
