COVID-19: 43 new cases reported in Pondy

Puducherry, Jul 5 (UNI) As many as 43 persons were tested positive for Coronavirus in the last 24 hours till 1000 hrs on Sunday in the Union territory taking the total number of infected to 946.
According to the Puducherry Health Department, 33 new cases were reported in Puducherry region while 10 in Yanam region.
They said that 30 new cases were admitted to the government medical college, three to Jipmer and 10 in Yanam government hospital.
They further said that 43 patients won the battle against the virus and were discharged in the last 24 hours taking the number of cured to 448.
At present, 484 patients were treated at the Government Medical college, Jipmer, CCC, Karaikal GH, Mahe GH, Yanam GH and four outside Puducherry (two each in Cuddalore and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu).
They added that 14 lost their lives to the pandemic since its outbreak in the Union Territory.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
