New Delhi, Apr 22 (UNI) The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Thursday filed an application in the Supreme Court saying cases in high courts on coronavirus-related issues should not be transferred to the apex court.
Earlier in the day, the apex court bench comprising justices S Ravindra Bhat and L Nageshwar Rao noted that currently six high courts, including Delhi, Bombay, Sikkim, Odisha, Calcutta, and Allahabad, were hearing matters related to Covid preparedness. "It's creating diversion and confusion," the bench observed.
In its application, the SCBA said that high courts appear to be best suited to deal with the situation and it would be proper to allow them to continue dealing with the present issue.
