Dalit Mahasangh president Uttam Mohite hacked to death in Sangli

Sangli, Maharashtra, Nov 12 (UNI) Sangli district Dalit Mahasangh President Uttam Mohite was brutally murdered with sharp weapons by a gang of attackers late Tuesday night at Garpir Chowk in Sangli city. The gang’s leader, identified as Shahrukh Sheikh, was also killed during the incident.
According to city police, Mohite had organised a cultural programme on Tuesday to celebrate his birthday. During the event, a group of eight to nine men led by Sheikh approached Mohite, greeted him, and then suddenly attacked him with sharp weapons in a manner resembling the 'Mulshi Pattern' movie style.
Mohite died on the spot due to severe injuries and excessive bleeding.
