Day temperatures above normal at few places over Assam and Meghalaya

Pune, May 25 (UNI) Southwest Monsoon further advance into some more parts of Southwest Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of Southeast Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Central Bay of Bengal and some parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal today on 25th May. Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon over some more parts of South west Bay of Bengal and Central Bay of Bengal and some parts of Northeast Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

Day temperatures were were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at a few places over west Rajasthan, Assam and Meghalaya; at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at many places over east Rajasthan , Gujarat region and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; at a few places over Gangetic West Bengal and Saurashtra and Kutch; at isolated places over Bihar and Vidarbha; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Punjab, Madhya Maharashtra and at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, Marathwada and Konkan and Goa. These were appreciably below normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at a few places over Kerala and Mahe and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at isolated places over Telangana and Andaman and Nicobar Islands; below normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Lakshadweep; at few places over east Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at isolated places north interior Karnataka and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 49.0°C was reported at Phalodi (west Rajasthan) over the country
