Delhi pollution case: SC directs time-bound implementation of CAQM’s long-term measures

New Delhi, Jan 21 (UNI) The Supreme Court today took note of a status report submitted by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) outlining long-term measures to tackle the continuing air pollution crisis in the Delhi-NCR region.
A three-judge Bench, comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. M. Pancholi, issued directions for the implementation of the recommendations made by the Commission.
The Bench recalled that on January 6 it had declined to grant further time for stakeholder consultations on issues relating to tolls and had directed the CAQM to independently examine the matter.
